Q.  We use a Water Pik in our office, but if a patient has an ear infection, this can be very painful.  What about the Elephant Ear Washer?

A.  No!  The Elephant Ear Washer gives you the water pressure you need to thoroughly clean your patients' ears without being painful or noisy.

GENERAL FAQ

Q.  Were you originally known as The Flat Mop Corporation?

A.  Yes, but we sold the Flat Mop portion of the business about a few years ago.  Since all the remaining products were for the medical field, it seemed fitting to change the name.

EAR WASHER FAQ

Q.  Can the Elephant Ear Washer be used on animals?

A.  Yes.  In fact, we have several veterinary offices that use the ear washer!

Q.  Can I remove the "O" ring that is between the blue tip and
the nozzle?

A.  No.  The "O" ring is a spacer.  Due to the modification in the design, if the "O" ring is removed, then it is possible for the blue nozzle to be screwed in too tight, which may cause it to break, thus causing irreparable damage to the ear washer.

Q.  The disposable tube came off when using the ear washer.  What caused this?

A.  It could be one of three problems.   1. The tubing is being "bent" or folded in the ear canal.  2.  The end of the tube is being placed against the wall of the ear canal.  3.  The end of the tube is being placed against the wax plug or foreign body in the ear.  Any of these actions can cause a "balloon effect" or a build up of water pressure inside the tube.  This build up of water pressure will then force the tube off.

NOTE:  In a continuing effort to satisfy our customers, we have been discussing this problem and effective October 2001, we will be shortening the tubes to 3/4".  If you have had this problem, we recommend that you cut the tube on any disposable tips that you currently have in stock to 3/4".

Q.  Can I buy a smaller tip for pediatric patients?

A.  No, however we do recommend that you cut the tube of the disposable tip in half.

Q.  Instead of removing the disposable tip, I accidentally pulled everything off
the end of the blue hose, including my clear plastic splash shield and tip adapter!  Do I need to buy a new ear washer?

A.  You would be surprised to know how often this happens!  We CAN send you another splash shield and male adapter for $1.00.  We do ask that you also purchase 1 bag of disposable tips to cover the cost of shipping.
